Our 17th Hapkiversary!
Our 17th Hapkiversary!
17 years ago, today, we first opened the Dojang doors at our new full-time location and unveiled our Dojang name, Dynamic Self Defence. Grandmaster Geoff Booth was there for the ribbon cutting, and has been there for us in all the years since. Of course there were others who also supported the move to the full-time location and put in the hard work to make this happen. Thank you to those who have been there during this awesome journey.
Over the 17 years we have experienced so many incredible moments. So much sweat, tears and hard work, but so much laughter and enjoyment too. Innumerable gradings, the making of Black Belts, hundreds of students getting on the mats to learn Kwan Nyom Hapkido. Adults stepping out of their comfort zone. Kids who were bullied at school and who now had the confidence to stand up for themselves and/or speak up. People who lacked the confidence to make friends, or to look up from their devices, now earning Black Belts and pushing themselves beyond their limits. Kwan Nyom Hapkido changed their lives. Training Kwan Nyom Hapkido is a real game changer.
When I stop and think about it, it blows me away that students can train Grandmaster Geoff’s incredible martial art of Kwan Nyom Hapkido in Parramatta! How lucky are they!
